This time we chose “Welcome to Germany” (2016, Germany) for the fourth human cinema screening.
Reflecting on the past of persecuting other ethnic groups by the Nazis, Germany has been accepting many refugees since the end of WWII. Germany has also been accepting the largest number of refugees evacuated from the Syrian Civil War as a result of continuous humanitarian actions.
This movie, picturing the reality in Germany as an entertainment work with laughther helps us to easily understand the problem of accpecting immigrants from various perspectives.
Even though Japan has almost the same economic power as Germany, Japan has been reluctant to open the door to Japan for refugees. We might be able to find the difference between Japan and Germany after watching the movie.
